At Tempest Media, we use a variety of readily available content management systems, such as WordPress, and Joomla. These systems are the most popular content management platforms available on the market, and with a wide range of themes and extensions, are perfect for the majority of websites created. WordPress
WordPress is the most recognised and popular CMS on the world wide web, with 22% of new websites using, or incorporating the platform in some way. WordPress was first released in May 2003, by Matt Mullenweg, and as of February 2011, the latest version has been downloaded 32.5 million times.At Tempest Media, we have a wide variety of skills in regard to WordPress, from simple information and blog websites, to the full customisation of WordPress themes and extensions in PHP to suit every purpose.
We are also experimenting with our own WordPress extensions, including an extended version of Matt Mullenweg’s popular ‘Hey Dolly’ extension, which can be downloaded for free on our Downloads Page.

Joomla
Formally known as 'Mambo', Joomla is another one of the most recognised and popular CMS’s available in the open source market, with over 23 million downloads to date.At Tempest Media, we tend to use the Joomla content management system for websites which require more functionality, such as e-commerce websites, using the built in extension, VirtueMart, or websites which require more user-interaction. Along with WordPress, Joomla is developed using a programming language called PHP. Tempest Media have both on-site and off-site PHP developers available to customise a large number of themes and extensions to suit any website and purpose.

We are also fully capable of developing websites using a variety of other content management systems. These include OSCommerce, Magneto, Zen Cart, Drupal and phpBB.
